I know it's difficult to do this if you aren't living in the best of circumstances as it is, but the best thing that most people in Leslie and surrounding counties could do is to continue moving out of Eastern Kentucky! Make that Leslie County population continue to sink like an anchor dropped into the ocean, by leaving for greener pastures in other places! People in Eastern Kentucky are not going to suddenly wake up one day and be living in an Appalachian utopia or even feel like they have finally arrived in the year 2023. Much of Eastern Kentucky is 30 to 40 years behind most American and other industrialized nations' regions in advancements in quite a few areas, such as transportation and job growth. There are a lot of jobs in a lot of fields of work throughout the south (Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and even a few spots in Alabama). I know a ton of people who have left Leslie, Perry, Clay, Knott, Letcher, Harlan, Breathitt, and Owsley counties since 2010 for Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, and NONE of them regretted it or came back to Kentucky. If you are interested in moving, check into areas in and around Jacksonville, Florida; Concord, North Carolina; Charleston, South Carolina (NOT Charleston, West Virginia, which is worse than some parts of Eastern Kentucky); Nashville, Tennessee; and Alpharetta, Georgia. Those are really great places to start when getting ready to research "Best Places To Move To". Moving or not, I wish you the best! God bless!

If I was the people of Leslie county, I'd be demanding answers as to where the million bucks went that's unaccounted for! This is the reason we are all living below poverty level, while their local, crooked politicians are getting filthy rich! That money belongs to the people, not the officials! This is why you need to stop voting for these crooked Republicans! They are keeping the people broke and poor, and dependent upon them. It's okay to vote for a Democrat with progressive ideologies, but still live by the conservative values. They are robbing us blind! We can't get jobs, we can't even get decent cell service! You can go anywhere outside of Leslie county and you have no problem with service, and the county will be stuck in this hole from now on, if the people don't stand up, and put a stop to this!

i am completely disgusted with the actions of the so called professional pharmacist of the medicine shoppe of hyden. me being a customer of theirs for 5 or more years have never been more outraged. i had recently had surgery i am currently in a pain clinic however the surgeon prescribed some pain meds for after my surgery, calling my pain dr in which i have a contract with to ok the meds the pharmacy dispensed the meds a week later i returned to the surgeon to have my staples removed and he wrote me 12 more pain meds to help while i continued to heal the pharmacy refused to fill my meds and told me they could fill them the next day, jump to the next day i returned to the pharmacy to get my prescription filled from the surgeon, and was told that they needed the “ok from the surgeon”, the one who wrote the prescription in the first place to ok the medication before they would fill it, meanwhile my main pain dr. has Ok anything the surgeon wrote so i did what was asked from the “pharmacist” and called the surgeon mind you he was in surgery thru the day and he kindly took my call i had him on the phone and the pharmacist refused to talk to him saying that he needed to call her on her phone, so i told him to please call her, and i know that he did. i had an appointment with my pain dr. the same day so the medicine from the surgeon was not that important... i asked why was i being given such a hard time about this i had done this same exact thing for the last 4 years and never once had an issue the pharmacist rudely said she would rip the prescription up. i tried to explain to the pharmacist that i had an appointment with my contracted pain dr on that same day and that i wouldn’t need the other but she rudely told me that she would not fill anything and she only did that for me as a favor i tried to tell her that i rescheduled my appointment and i did “the time of the appointment” i went to my dr and took the prescription to the pharmacy the one that i had been getting filled there with them for 5+ years and she refused to fill that prescription quoting “i lied to her” there was no false claims or information given to her.... so i started trying to find another pharmacy while doing so the new pharmacy would call Medicine Shoppe and she would slander my name and make all kinds of accusations about me that was completely false.... all of this would have completely been avoided if the so called (professional pharmacist) would have listened to me when i was trying to tell her that i was not interested in filling the prescription from the surgeon because i had my other appointment.... but instead i have been put thru unnecessary mental anguish and more pain. all because she may have been having a “Bad” few days.... if this is what they call being professionals i truly feel sorry for anyone who deals with them.

Jimmy Darrell Sizemore, of Bullskin is wanting to "ADOPT", a one year old baby girl in hopes of obtaining an S. S. I. Check. Lol These things just make my skin crawl. He's wanting that poor child for s means of a way to "PAY", for his youngest daughterrs', car.... what a world we, live in. However, Jimmy Darrell Sizemore has been in the hospital for an OPIATE, overdose back in 2007. Handing him that child is no different than the family court giving her back to her very own mother. Second, Jimmy Darrell goes "Coonhunting", with supposedly carsickness that caused him to quit his job... Not, true. Anyway, his mom Ruth Ann Sizemore is pretending to be separated from her husband so "she", can draw S. S. I. I guess, "Like Mother, Like Son"! Ruth Ann and Junior Sizemore still live in the same trailer.... must be nice to "chest", the system..
